Mission

OpenZeppelin’s mission is to protect the open economy.

We care deeply about economic liberty, equality of opportunities, and freedom to innovate.

We believe the best way to achieve this is through the mainstream adoption of an open economy — a global, internet-based economic and financial system enabling every human to work, produce, consume, and invest however desired.

We believe that blockchains and smart contracts are the best technologies to enable such open economy.

Through our work, we aim to secure the open economy’s underlying technology, making it easy and safe for developers and organizations to build and connect to it.

By protecting the open economy, we contribute to accelerating its mainstream adoption, and thus foster economic freedom in the world.

What we do

We believe in the power of technology to change the world by enabling new ways for individuals and businesses to communicate, create, and transact value. However, we recognize that some old traditions, institutions, and ideas are being carried over from the days before the Internet.

We empower creative people all over the world to build new software-based global systems and communities, no matter where they live. We do this by driving technological innovation, open-source collaboration, and great user experience design.

How we work

We’re focused on creating a collaborative work environment where people are happy and productive. We don’t let geography or borders define us: we are a distributed team with members all over the world.

  • How long does the hiring process take?

The hiring process can vary based on what the position is and the availability from both the candidate and interviewers. Typically we strive to complete the process in up to 6 weeks, if not sooner.

  • Who will I be talking to during the hiring process?

You’ll talk to someone from our Talent team, the Hiring Manager, your prospective teammate(s), and someone from the OpenZeppelin executive leadership team.

  • What’s the work test like?

The work test is a custom, take-home challenge guided by a member from OpenZeppelin. You can think of it as an experience that emulates the real work you’d do here. Work tests typically lasts a few business days so that candidates with external responsibilities don’t feel pressured to rush through it. Your time is paid regardless of the output.

  • Do you follow up with candidates you’ve decided to not move forward with?

Yes. We appreciate the time you invest in applying for a job at OpenZeppelin, and the Talent Team will always try to update you regarding your application as fast as possible. They typically get back to applicants in just a few days (depending on the volume of applications), so expect to hear from the team not long after applying.

  • Can I apply to multiple roles simultaneously?

We want applicants to think deeply about their skills and interests, and how these align with what OpenZeppelin is currently working for. It's not a good sign if you find yourself applying to as many open positions as possible.

  • Do we work with recruitment agencies?

We don’t accept CVs from external parties or recruitment agencies. Any unsolicited CVs sent to us will be treated as property of OpenZeppelin, and any attached terms and conditions associated with these CVs will be null and void.
